This is badass.

I’m in awe at the craft involved in making this a reality. It’s truly beautiful. Genuinely lovely work!

While my blog typically hosts longer-form writing on a particular topic, I want to use this space more like LiveJournal: what am I thinking about, what’s going on, what am I doing that doesn’t fit in that tech / media / society intersection.

One feature request: I’m an active Bookwyrm user, and I’d like to embed those reviews here. That doesn’t feel like a fediverse thing - just more of an embedding / oEmbed support question. (Is there Bookwyrm for movies and TV? Like, federated Letterboxd?)

Oooh, more great feedback! I love that you want to use this app for what you are thinking, like LiveJournal. That is the inspiration behind the app! I hope we find more users who do the same.

On the feature request. I thought about having a section for book reviews or what you are currently reading. So this is something I’ll absolutely investigate. Btw, we have a feedback option for you to add direct feature ideas like this. I check it daily and act on them as quickly as I can. While the number of users on the site is small, I’m reading everything and catching items like this. But if there is something you’d like to see and I don’t act on it or respond to it, please feel free to add your feedback through the site. It will go directly on the roadmap, and when I implement the feature, you will get credit for the idea in the release notes. :)

I think that sounds like a great feature - but I’d also love to see oembed support across platforms. That way I could add a single URL to an existing Bookwyrm review in my post, and Inkwell would hydrate it into a little embedded card. It’s an open standard that Medium, for example, uses really well.

Thanks for the additional information! I’ll investigate and figure out how we can make it happen.
