🗨️ Am I Doing this Right?

Q: My eight year old always wants to play video games. Curbing screen time by setting limits is a struggle. What can I do better?

A: Research suggests a difference between scrolling through social media ... watching an educational video ... and playing video games.

Q: My 12-year-old is witnessing bullying. How can I encourage my child to be a positive agent of change?

A: “When kids have confidence that their actions will truly make a difference, they are more likely to step up ....”

There are days when Alice has what I call "bad brain days". This typically happens when she is anxious about something or when there has been a lot of unexpected changes.

They are definitively, distinctly, and undeniably CONCENTRATION CAMPS:

"[E]xperts in the field have no hesitation in using these words to describe the network of facilities that the federal government is using to literally warehouse tens of thousands of , , and even — snatched out of their communities by masked federal agents."

Hey don't forget to check out my latest blog post where I talk about some of the new "online safety" bills being introduced in 2026. I know these are **framed** as being created to protect children, but I can almost guarantee that all they will do is break your encryption, destroy your privacy, and ruin anonymity online for journalists, activists, and whistleblowers while also potentially actually putting the data of children at increased risk of being stolen in data breach. I can also almost guarantee that criminals will use fake identifications and scape goats to continue harming whomever they please without any increased risk to them vs now.

My kids have been to 26 countries on 6 continents. We never check bags.
businessinsider.com/world-trav
I travel frequently and like to think I have packing down to a science. Years of backpacking around the world solo taught me how little I actually need when I'm away from home. Even more importantly, those years taught me how much easier and more enjoyable travel is when I'm not weighed down by …

I always dreaded long travel days with my kids. Getting airport lounge access has completely changed the way my family travels.
businessinsider.com/airport-lo
I love showing my kids the world, but traveling with children can be stressful. That's especially true for long travel days. My kids inevitably became overstimulated by the crowds and noise, and I regularly blew my budget plying them with overpriced snacks. I needed a solution. I coveted access to …

OK..news from the "involuntary admin" front.

Infos I had from my partners mother:

"I can do nothing on my laptop any more. There's always a message 'no permission' when I try X or Y. And it said deleting cookies may help so I tried. But something went wrong and I was afraid to continue"

What I saw when I checked the laptop:

- Firefox icon in task bar and desktop blank
- Chrome icon in task bar and desktop blank
- Virus scanner icon in task bar and desktop blank
- All 3 programs didn't start although OS said they are installed

What they saw in my face:

"How the bloody hell..... wtf.. ??"

It took me 50 minutes to reinstall the 3 programs on her 2 core 4GB Win8.1 machine while the 5400rpm HDD swapped for its life.
And another 20 minutes to make her Gmail account accessible again without her remembering the password and not having a recovery mail set.

You know.. Time is my most precious resource. And just because someone doesn't care about how long a laptop needs to start a webbrowser because he/she can do the dishes in the meantime and therefore don't wants to buy new hardware doesn't mean that I feel the same while fixing other peoples problems.

So..to all customers of FamilyAdmin Inc. who might read this:

From this moment on my willingness to help you out depends on your hardware.

>= 16cores 64GB RAM: buy me a coffee
< 4 cores 8GB RAM: you better sell your house to compensate my pain
