One of my takeaways from @FOSSBackstage was @andrewnez saying relative download stats for packages closely resemble stats of open source dependents, so closed source dependency use matches open source dependency use: We can distribute funding fairly w/o analyzing closed source use. That makes tools like thanks.dev or Tidelift or funds.ecosyste.ms so much easier
