Il Tempo: Continuiamo a non voler vedere il pericolo islamista

Oggi Il Tempo vi propone un documento inquietante: il comunicato con cui le comunità islamiche sciite, piangendo Khamenei padre e esaltandone il figlio, celebrano il «martirio» e invitano la nuova Guida Suprema a rimanere in quel «lucente solco». Non serve un sofisticato conoscitore dell'Islam per capire di cosa stiamo parlando: un pericoloso discorso sul filo della violenza.
La nota èfirmata da associazioni e centri culturali che non si nascondono, e almeno questo è positivo ai fini dei controlli indispensabili per garantire la sicurezza nazionale.
Ma il punto è proprio questo: se già vengono dette cose del genere apertis verbis, immaginiamo il tenore delle prediche che nessun «estraneo» ascolta, dei sermoni più infiammati a porte chiuse.

Anzi, c'è da sorridere amaramente quando qualcuno immagina che il proselitismo fondamentalista avvenga solo online, sottovalutando la forza di trascinamento delle aggregazioni fisiche nel cuore delle nostre città.
E allora? Non si tratta di chiudere a prescindere quei luoghi, lasciando spazio a raduni in case private ancora meno controllabili. E tuttavia si rende indispensabile un'attività che andrà peraltro costantemente aggiornata, perché nomi e persone cambiano vorticosamente.
Occorre un censimento (uso appositamente un concetto sdoganatissimo, che evoca solo positive esigenze di trasparenza) di tutti i luoghi di culto, di incontro e di associazionismo ispirati all'Islam sul nostro territorio. E la medesima trasparenza va richiesta sulle relative fonti di finanziamento.
È il minimo sindacale, a maggior ragione in assenza di un'intesa con lo stato italiano che non è stata possibile per ben due volte (con governi di centrosinistra e di centrodestra) a causa delle diverse scelte delle comunità islamiche, che non hanno saputo indicare rappresentanze unitarie, e si sono opposte a far sapere chi le finanziava.
Ma la mancata intesa con lo Stato non può significare assenza di trasparenza su attività, persone, finanziamenti. Non credo sia necessario aggiungere altro: cosa sia in gioco è fin troppo chiaro.

Today, Il Tempo proposes a disturbing document: the statement with which Shia Muslim communities, mourning Khamenei the father and exalting his son, celebrate the “martyrdom” and invite the new Supreme Guide to remain in that “bright path.” It takes no sophisticated knowledge of Islam to understand what we are talking about: a dangerous discourse on the edge of violence.

The note is signed by associations and cultural centers that don’t hide, and at least this is positive for necessary controls to ensure national security.

But the point is precisely this: if such things are already said openly, imagine the tone of the sermons that no “outsider” listens to, the most inflamed sermons in closed rooms.

Indeed, there’s something to bitterly laugh about when someone imagines that fundamentalist proselytism only occurs online, underestimating the pulling force of physical gatherings in the heart of our cities.

And then? It’s not about closing those places indiscriminately, leaving space for private home gatherings even less controllable. However, it makes indispensable an activity that will, of course, constantly need to be updated, because names and people change dizzyingly.

A census (using, specifically, a concept thoroughly sanitized, which evokes only positive transparency needs) of all places of worship, meeting places, and associations inspired by Islam on our territory is required. And the same transparency must be requested regarding their relative sources of funding.

This is the bare minimum, all the more so in the absence of an agreement with the Italian state, which, for two times (with center-left and center-right governments) has not been possible due to the diverse choices of the Muslim communities, which have not been able to indicate unified representations, and have opposed revealing who was funding them.

But the lack of an agreement with the State cannot mean absence of transparency on activities, people, and financing. I don't think it’s necessary to add anything further: what’s at stake is far too clear.
