Inkwell not notifying of pending fediverse follow requests
BugDone
It doesn't appear that Inkwell is notifying us of follow requests from the fediverse anymore. The day I first joined, I had sent a follow request from my personal fediverse instance to my inkwell account and I got a notification that I had a follow request to accept, and I was able to accept it as expected.
However, later I deleted my follow to troubleshoot something else unrelated to this, and now when I send a follow request again from it, it's just stuck in pending state and there's no notification on my Inkwell account that I have a pending follow request waiting to be accepted.
I suspect this may be related to the "user for fediverse" issue @jorgegobbi reported. He may not be seeing any updates on Mastodon after following his Inkwell account, because he can't see his pending following request on Inkwell to accept it. He has to accept it to complete the follow request.
I sent a follow request from Mastodon to test it and from Mastodon's end, it looks like the follow request isn't being rejected or anything, but I just can't see it on the Inkwell side to accept it.
I created a second Inkwell account to test this out and the same thing happens so something does seem to be not working as expected.
I wasn't sure if we have the same issue so I created a new ticket.
I also tested this between Inkwell accounts and the follow requests work as intended, so it seems just follow requests from the fediverse are affected.
I linked a screenshot of my Activitypub dashboard from Wordpress showing the follow request still pending to my test Inkwell account.

Inkwell now creates a notification when a Mastodon or fediverse user follows you. You will see a globe icon with their fediverse handle (e.g. @user@mastodon.social) in your notifications. Clicking it opens their profile on their home instance. Duplicate follow activities are deduplicated so you only get one notification per new follower.
