MISSION OF BURMA
Signals, Calls, And Marches
2010 U.S. reissue
My two day excursion to Victoria with my son would not have been complete without a vinyl crawl.
On this trip, I found a handful of records by bands from my beloved hometown of #boston #massachusetts .
THIS is by far my favorite of the lot.
Mission Of Burma were one of the greatest #experimental #punk #postpunk bands PERIOD, regardless of geography.
THIS edition combines the original E.P., their debut single, & a pair of previously unreleased songs.
“That’s When I Reach For My Revolver” and “Academy Fight Song”, are two of the most vital & essential songs of that decade.
SC&M also highlights the bands penchant for experimenting with tape loops, as well as presenting a more controlled and refined presentation in comparison to their brutal, chaotic live sound. Which, if you’re familiar with Boston music lore, is the stuff of LEGEND.
