"The European Commission’s Digital Omnibus Proposal introduces a set of targeted changes to the GDPR that are intended to reduce unnecessary burden for organisations, increase legal certainty, and tackle persistent issues that have emerged in practice since the GDPR entered into force." Does this mean having to opt-out for privacy alike the US standards? I thought California's delete act was a step in the right direction, the EU omnibus proposal seems a step in the wrong direction.

In a survey of 25 countries, the United States was the only county in which more adults describe the morality of their compatriots as bad than good. 53% of respondents said that the morality and ethics of other people in their country is either somewhat or very bad. Since this is a new question for Pew Research, the team says they don't know whether this is a long-held view or something new. A million miles away in sentiment, but just kilometres away geographically, 92% of Canadians think other Canadians are either very good or somewhat good.
