Some early spring days have our Saturn peach tree starting to bud up. We'll have to cover it in the evening for the next week as the frost threat is high. It's dropping back down to the teens again by the weekend. Several other plants need cover too, a blueberry plant with flowers will be moving inside at night.

I got the daffodils and grape hyacinth planted this afternoon and made a Trader Joe's run. Mainly interesting snacks but still fun for Ellie and me. Now to chill out for a bit. It's been nonstop since 8am this morning, I might have overdone it on my day off. Our Missouri Conservation Dept plant order should be here in a week or two. We're running out of yard! I'll be planting some at my friend's house by the beehives.

It looks like most of the carnivorous plants survived over-wintering on the balcony in Germany, Zone 7b. I am now prepping soil for divisions and repotting. There are three generations of Venus Flytraps with a small fourth generation seeding to start soon (I have a lot of seeds from last year's harvest and need to test a few).

Up too late with perhaps one too many beers and happened to open a tiny zine of the Major Arcana of the Gulf Coast Tarot from Mystic Multiples to Temperance. It spoke to me as the season seems to be well underway. The garden is jumping to life and my seedlings are nearing the point to jump into the fray.
