Ahoy, @atpfm folk. Have you been tempted to install Asahi Linux on one of your spare Apple Silicon Macs? Probably not as Xcode would not be close at hand.
I got tempted to give it a go when Apple pissed me off with gratuitous changes to Finder and Preview among others.
Tleilaxu Eyes need to go in the shop for service. They both got dry causing reall accessibility problems with MacOS 26 Tahoe. So I had a go.
One shell command pulls down the Asahi boot loader and the release, creates a disk slice, and does the installation. Slick. Apple easy! And it works. And it boots.
But, Thunderbolt, audio, and some other things are a work in progress. And they're up front about remaining work. By model and by M-series variants. They have a handy chart.
The installer is at https://asahilinux.org/
I find i can do much of my daily routine with Asahi Linux (its a KDE Plasma mash-up) by Fedora. I believe Ubuntu also has a version.

Funktionierende Treiber, Software per Mausklick – und das mit Linux. Das Webinar zeigt, wie der Umstieg gelingt, ganz ohne Kommandozeilen-Trauma.
There's always greener grass somewhere. When that KDE on proper Arch is humming away nicely, the thoughts wander back to the great Slackware KDE6 times with @jloc0 or even the proper Gentoo install (just plasma-desktop, not meta, is a viable option there also). And if it wasn't for that one gnarly AppImage I'd be running Alpine. Obviously.

Deleting 225 Noto fonts every time I install KDE is one of those sloppy, lazy things that pisses me off. Ain't gonna use Old Hungarian anyway. And why Okular needs 25 (I counted them) VLC plugins, is beyond me also. I thought this was a document reader?
