I know mastodon is filling up with linux tinkerers , but I'm joining the 'I love Linux quire'. Bought a macbook air from 2015 just to play with. Put Pop_OS! on it and tinkered a bit to get wifi working. Now it starts faster than my new work computer (filled up with #microslop). So the old Apple guy run laps around the HP from 2025. Cosmic is great on a low specs laptop. #computers #linux #pop_os
I really want to like #cosmicdesktop but between the `right control` key not working (to be fair it is pending, https://github.com/orgs/pop-os/projects/27/views/1?pane=issue&itemId=153968342&issue=pop-os|cosmic-comp|2027) and no built-in screen recording ability (select area option) that I can see (things like blue recorder don't have the option to select area enabled), it's hard to keep using ATM. I do acknowledge screen recording is on the road map as well (https://github.com/orgs/pop-os/projects/27/views/1?filterQuery=record&pane=issue&itemId=153349866&issue=pop-os|cosmic-screenshot|194).
Don't get me wrong, I really like what @system76 is doing with creating a new DE and I know these things take time. My workflow just does not match well with where it's currently at.
