Secondo Trump, l'operazione avrebbe preso di mira infrastrutture strategiche legate al settore energetico. Kharg è infatti il principale terminale petrolifero dell'Iran e gestisce la quasi totalità delle esportazioni di greggio del Paese.

According to Trump, the operation would have targeted strategic infrastructure linked to the energy sector. Kharg is, in fact, Iran’s main oil terminal and manages almost all of the country’s crude oil exports.
