When a new Letter arrives, both the Letters and Notification icons show a number badge. Accessing the new letter from the Letters icon and reading it, does not clear the number badge on the Notification icon. I either have to open and close the new letter twice or click both the Letter and Notification icon to clear it. This is redundant so disabling new letter notifications from appearing in Notifications would prevent the double notifications.

Add Categories to Journal Posts
Journal entries can now have a category (20 options like Personal, Poetry, Creative Writing, Travel, Tech, and more). Categories appear on feed cards and entry pages, and a new category filter bar on the Explore page lets you browse by topic. Each category also has its own browse page at /category/[slug].
I love Dark Mode, but I can’t see!
Fixed Letters textarea text visibility in dark mode — text is now readable when the compose area is unfocused.
New Letters notification do not clear when read
Letter notification badges now clear immediately when you read a letter, without needing to navigate away.
Distraction-Free Writing Mode
The editor now has a focus mode toggle in the toolbar. Click it (or look for the expand icon at the end of the toolbar) to hide the navigation bar, footer, cover image section, mood/music strip, and entry settings — leaving just the title, toolbar, and writing area. Press Esc to exit focus mode anytime. Write without distractions!

@[deleted]·Feb 25, 2026When you go to enter a letter, the text box will appear white and display text appropriately. However, when clicking/tapping out of it (say, to scroll up to read a previous letter) the text box turns black, which hides the black font and makes it look like the text is gone.
A few screens still do not fit correctly on mobile (I.e. journal entry and admin page).
Journal entry stamps are being cut off on UI. Need to make sure the stamp options show up.
All instances of Inkwell should have the 'I' capitalized.
I've been making additions and changes to the roadmap, and I've been logged out twice. I'm not sure if it has anything to do with the roadmap, or if I'm making changes to the system while I'm working in it, but I need to figure out why this is happening. We already implemented ways to stay signed in, but it looks like it may not be working correctly. Need to troubleshoot.
On the mastodon post that shows up under explore, any comments added are not showing up. There are no comments on the other posts, as they are all mine, so I'm not sure whether they are affected. We need to ensure comment counts are showing up properly.
My Chappel Roan video upload post has extra white space after making changes to site width and height. Need to investigate and resolve.
It is showing up in the UI to request to follow Pen Pals that users have already followed. We need to investigate if it's an API or UI issue and ensure follow settings stay saved.
User tested adding comments to a mastodon post I created and it appeared that the post was not going through. I don't think submit did anything on the UI. But when I viewed the comment, I could see multiple comments of the same text. I'm not sure if the issue is UI or an integration issue with ActivityPub.
