Il Tempo: Volvo ES90 lusso elettrico svedese
Benvenuti a bordo del lusso della tecnologia targati Volvo. Con la nuova ES90 la casa svedese rilancia la sfida in un mercato, quelle delle berline elettriche top, sempre più affollato. Ma definire questa vettura berlina è riduttivo, perché con quel look tra Suv e coupé allo stesso tempo non passa di certo inosservata nonostante fili via silenziosa come una star che non vuole esse riconosciuta tra la folla. Si tratta di fatto del design scandinavo alla sua massima espressione in grado di unire l'eleganza raffinata di una berlina (con un coefficiente aerodinamico di solo 0,25 il migliore di sempre per la casa) con l'adattabilità di una fastback e lo spazio di un Suv.
Prima elettrica della casa, costruita sulla piattaforma SPA2, con la nuova tecnologia a 800 volt che consente un'autonomia fino a 700 chilometri e tempi di ricarica particolarmente contenuti: 275 km in soli dieci minuti con ricarica ultrafast.
Un discorso a parte va fatto per il software che equipaggia questa vettura: il top su un'automobile in grado di fare calcoli velocissimi e mettere la vettura al servizio del guidatore consentendo standard di sicurezza mai visti prima. Un sistema Safe Space per proteggere le persone dentro e fuori dall'auto che dispone anche dell'Interior Sensing in grado di rilevare minimi movimenti all'interno della vettura: il respiro di un bambino o di un animale, proprio per evitare che qualcuno possa «dimenticare» figli o animali in auto. Pazzesco poi l'impianto acustico.
Tre le versioni disponibili. La «base» o meglio la versione Single Motor Extended Range da 333 CV in allestimento Core. Le versioni Plus e Ultra con lo stesso motore e poi le varianti Twin Motor da 449 CV, disponibili solo in allestimento Ultra, i prezzi partono. Infine c'è la top di gamma Twin Motor Performance da 680 CV. Tutte già disponibili nei concessionari Volvo con prezzi a partire da 86mila euro.

Welcome aboard the luxury of technology, brought to you by Volvo. With the new EX90, the Swedish company is relaunching the challenge in a market – that of top electric sedans – increasingly crowded. But defining this car as a sedan is reductive, because with its look that is simultaneously SUV and coupe, it certainly doesn’t go unnoticed, despite gliding silently like a star that doesn’t want to be recognized in the crowd. It’s, in fact, Scandinavian design at its utmost expression, capable of uniting the refined elegance of a sedan (with an aerodynamic coefficient of only 0.25, the best ever for the brand) with the adaptability of a fastback and the space of an SUV.
The first electric car from the brand, built on the SPA2 platform, with the new 800-volt technology that allows for a range of up to 700 kilometers and particularly short charging times: 275 km in just ten minutes with ultra-fast charging.
A separate discussion must be made about the software that equips this vehicle: top-of-the-line on a car capable of making extremely fast calculations and putting the vehicle at the service of the driver, allowing for safety standards never seen before. A Safe Space system to protect people inside and outside the car, which also has Interior Sensing capable of detecting minimal movements inside the vehicle: the breath of a child or animal, precisely to prevent someone from “forgetting” children or animals in the car. Then there’s the sound system, which is fantastic.
There are three versions available. The “base” or rather the Single Motor Extended Range version with 333 hp in Core trim. The Plus and Ultra versions with the same engine and then the Twin Motor variants with 449 hp, available only in Ultra trim, prices start. Finally, there’s the top-of-the-range Twin Motor Performance version with 680 hp. All already available at Volvo dealerships starting from €86,000.
