LA NOTIZIA: Guerra in Iran, precipita un aereo cisterna americano in Iraq: il Pentagono parla di “incidente in volo”, ma non è ancora chiaro cosa sia successo
Un aereo cisterna KC-135 americano, impegnato nelle operazioni militari contro Teheran, è precipitato in condizioni ancora poco chiare durante una missione di rifornimento in volo. Secondo il comando militare statunitense lo schianto sarebbe avvenuto dopo un incidente tra due velivoli nello stesso spazio aereo, uno dei quali è riuscito ad atterrare mentre l’altro, ossia il KC-135, si è schiantato rovinosamente al suolo.

Al momento non è chiaro se l’incidente sia stato provocato da una manovra errata oppure se ci sia stato un qualche evento esterno che ha causato lo schianto. Cosa ancora peggiore è che l’equipaggio, almeno tre militari, risulta disperso con le squadre di ricerca degli Usa che stanno scandagliando la zona desertica e isolata dell’Iraq occidentale in cui è precipitato l’aereo cisterna.
Hormuz, il collo di bottiglia del petrolio
In tutto questo, la guerra in Iran continua a infuriare. Particolarmente critica è la situazione nello Stretto di Hormuz dove il blocco al transito delle navi, a causa della minaccia dei pasdaran, sta creando uno schock energetico globale perché da quel piccolo lembo di mare passa circa un quinto del petrolio mondiale.
Difficile che lo Stretto di Hormuz torni navigabile a breve visto che la nuova Guida Suprema dell’Iran, Mojtaba Khamenei, nel suo – fin qui unico – intervento pubblico ha detto che il mondo deve arrendersi davanti al fatto che il blocco è destinato a durare a lungo, con le inevitabili ripercussioni sul prezzo del petrolio che continua a salire giornalmente.

At this time, it is not clear whether the incident was caused by a mistaken maneuver or if there was some external event that caused the crash. Worse still is that the crew, at least three military personnel, is missing, and U.S. search teams are scouring the isolated desert region of western Iraq where the tanker plane crashed.
Hormuz, the Oil Bottleneck
All of this, the war in Iran continues to rage. Particularly critical is the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, where the blockade of ship transit, due to the threat of the Pasdaran, is causing a global energy shock because approximately one fifth of global oil passes through that small sliver of sea.
It is unlikely that the Strait of Hormuz will return to navigability soon, as the new Supreme Leader of Iran, Mojtaba Khamenei, in his – so far – only public intervention, stated that the world must accept the fact that the blockade is destined to last long, with the inevitable repercussions on oil prices which continue to rise daily.

Prima fa un annuncio rilevante sui social, tanto da provocare una corsa al ribasso del prezzo del petrolio. Poi però cancella il post perché quella notizia, in realtà, non è vera. Il protagonista di questa vicenda è il ministro dell’Energia degli Stati Uniti, Chris Wright. “La Marina Usa ha scortato con successo una petroliera attraverso lo Stretto di Hormuz per assicurare che il petrolio continui ad arrivare ai mercati globali”, ha annunciato in un post su X aggiungendo che “il presidente Trump sta mantenendo la stabilità dell’energia globale durante le operazioni militari contro l’Iran”.
Il fatto che gli Stati Uniti siano riusciti a sbloccare, anche se solo per una prima petroliera, lo stop imposto dall’Iran nello stretto strategico per i flussi di petrolio mondiali, non è una notizia irrilevante. Tanto che immediatamente il prezzo del petrolio ha subito un crollo arrivando a perdere il 15% nell’arco di pochi minuti: dopo aver sfondato quota 100 dollari, il greggio ha raggiunto gli 80 dollari al barile.
La reazione entusiasta dei mercati deve però fare i conti con la realtà. Pochi minuti dopo infatti lo stesso ministro Wright cancella il post. Semplicemente perché la notizia è falsa. A dichiararlo è la stessa portavoce della Casa Bianca: gli Stati Uniti “non hanno scortato una petroliera” nello Stretto di Hormuz, ha dichiarato Karoline Leavitt. Anche una fonte del Pentagono, interpellata dal New York Times, ha dovuto smentire il ministro. Pure i Guardiani della rivoluzione iraniani hanno replicato a Wright con toni poco concilianti: “Nessuna delle navi da guerra statunitensi durante la guerra ha osato avvicinarsi al Mar di Oman, al Golfo Persico e allo Stretto di Hormuz”, hanno fatto sapere i Pasdaran. Così l’accelerazione del calo del greggio si è arrestata: il prezzo del petrolio rimane ancora più alto del 15% rispetto all’inizio della guerra.

The enthusiastic reaction of the markets must, however, take into account reality. Just a few minutes later, the same Minister Wright deletes the post. Simply because the news is false. This is confirmed by the White House spokesperson, Karoline Leavitt: “The United States did not escort a tanker” in the Strait of Hormuz, she stated. Even a Pentagon source, questioned by the New York Times, had to deny the minister. The Revolutionary Guard of Iran also responded to Wright with little conciliatory tones: “None of the U.S. warships during the war dared to approach the Sea of Oman, the Persian Gulf, and the Strait of Hormuz,” announced the Pasdaran. Thus, the acceleration of the drop in crude oil stopped: the price of oil remains still more than 15% higher than at the beginning of the war.

I Guardiani della Rivoluzione iraniani hanno inoltre riferito all'agenzia Fars di aver attaccato con droni e missili la base aerea di Al-Adiri in Kuwait. I vigili del fuoco del piccolo Paese del Golfo hanno annunciato su X che due pompieri sono "morti in servizio" senza specificare le circostanze dell'incidente. In precedenza le autorità del Kuwait avevano comunicato che erano in corso le operazioni di spegnimento di un incendio presso un deposito di carburante nell'aeroporto. Secondo Fars, l'attacco dei pasdaran ha distrutto un centro di riparazione di elicotteri statunitensi, depositi di carburante e un centro di comando. "Dopo questa ondata di attacchi, un terribile rogo si è sviluppato nella base e un denso fumo nero sta ancora salendo da questa base e può essere visto da lontano", afferma l'agenzia iraniana.

Iran is targeting radar and air defense systems in several countries in the Persian Gulf, including Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia. This is reported by the Wall Street Journal, citing U.S. officials, analysts, and satellite imagery. The attacks, considered retaliation for the bombing by the United States and Israel, have reduced the ability of American and allied forces to monitor incoming missiles. Satellite imagery shows damage to strategic installations, including an early warning radar at Al-Udeid Air Base in Qatar, the location of the largest U.S. facility in the region, and a Tpy-2 radar linked to a Thaad battery in Jordan. Radar domes at Camp Arifjan in Kuwait, satellite communication antenna arrays at the U.S. Fifth Fleet headquarters in Bahrain, and a radar at Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia were also struck.
U.S. officials assured the WSJ that the defenses remain fully operational and that new interceptors and equipment are being deployed. Admiral Brad Cooper stated that since the beginning of the conflict, missile attacks have decreased by approximately 90% and drone attacks by 83%, although over 100 drones continue to strike the United Arab Emirates daily. Experts point out that the attacks highlight the vulnerability of advanced radar systems and the difficulty of defending against a full range of aerial threats, from missiles to drones.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran also reported attacking the Al-Adiri Air Base in Kuwait with drones and missiles. The firefighters of the small Gulf country announced on X that two firefighters are “died in the line of duty” without specifying the circumstances of the incident. Previously, Kuwaiti authorities had announced that firefighting operations were underway at a fuel depot at the airport. According to Fars, the Pasdaran’s attack destroyed a U.S. helicopter repair center, fuel depots, and a command center. “After this wave of attacks, a terrible fire developed in the base and a dense black smoke is still rising from this base and can be seen from afar,” the Iranian agency states.
