Il modello di produzione lineare “prendi-fai-getta” contrasta fortemente con la circolarità dei sistemi naturali. Per affrontare questo problema, i chimici dell’Università di Rutgers, negli Stati Uniti, hanno sviluppato una tecnologia innovativa capace di modificare la plastica affinché si degradi in componenti molecolari dopo un certo periodo di tempo o in risposta a segnali come la luce solare.
Questa innovazione permette di mantenere la robustezza della plastica, rendendola adatta all’uso, e successivamente consente una decomposizione automatica per facilitare il corretto smaltimento o il riutilizzo. This innovation allows the robustness of plastic to be maintained, making it suitable for use and subsequently enables an automatic decomposition to facilitate proper disposal or reuse. I negoziati tra Russia e Ucraina potrebbero riprendere la prossima settimana, ma le probabilità che si rilevino un fallimento sono già altissime. Tanto più nell’attuale, caotico, scenario geopolitico, con la crisi in Medio Oriente e la guerra in Iran che avvantaggia Mosca e che Vladimir Putin ha intenzione di utilizzare a suo favore. Il presidente ucraino, Volodymyr Zelensky, ha comunicato che gli Stati Uniti hanno proposto un nuovo round di colloqui mediati da Washington per cercare uno spiraglio verso la fine della guerra.

Il Fatto Quotidiano: Modello Venezuela e rischi per i Paesi del Golfo: perché Trump ha chiesto a Israele di non colpire gli impianti energetici in Iran
Per la prima volta dall’inizio degli attacchi contro l’Ira gli Stati Uniti richiamano Israele provando a porre delle restrizioni alle azioni dell’alleato. Gli Usa, secondo quanto riporta Axios, hanno infatti chiesto al governo guidato da Benjamin Netanyahu e all’esercito di fermare gli attacchi alle infrastrutture energetiche iraniane.
Il messaggio di Washington, scrive Axios citando tre fonti a conoscenza della questione, è stato recapitato a un alto livello politico e al capo di stato maggiore delle Idf, Eyal Zamir. Una richiesta argomentata con tre motivazioni. L’amministrazione guidata da Donald Trump, innanzitutto, pensa già al dopoguerra: l’obiettivo Usa è quello di cooperare con il settore petrolifero iraniano. In pratica applicare il modello Venezuela dove il petrolio, nell’era del dopo Nicolàs Maduro, è direttamente controllato dagli Stati Uniti.
Il secondo motivo è sia quello di evitare attacchi che possano danneggiare la popolazione iraniana e il timore di un incontrollato aumento dei prezzi del petrolio. Anche perché gli Stati Uniti temono – e questo è il terzo punto – che i raid contro gli impianti petroliferi iraniani possano innescare una potente rappresaglia dei Pasdaran contro le infrastrutture energetiche dei vicini Paesi del Golfo.
Proprio oggi (martedì 10 marzo), all’undicesimo giorno di guerra in Medio Oriente, il Qatar ha affermato che l’Iran continua gli attacchi contro le sue infrastrutture civili e ha messo in guardia sulle conseguenze economiche globali dei raid, anche di quelli di Usa e Israele: “Gli attacchi contro gli impianti energetici che hanno avuto luogo da entrambe le parti costituiscono un precedente pericoloso e avranno ripercussioni in tutto il mondo”, ha sottolineato il portavoce del ministero degli Affari esteri del Qatar, Majed al-Ansari.

La reazione entusiasta dei mercati deve però fare i conti con la realtà. Pochi minuti dopo infatti lo stesso ministro Wright cancella il post. Semplicemente perché la notizia è falsa. A dichiararlo è la stessa portavoce della Casa Bianca: gli Stati Uniti “non hanno scortato una petroliera” nello Stretto di Hormuz, ha dichiarato Karoline Leavitt. Anche una fonte del Pentagono, interpellata dal New York Times, ha dovuto smentire il ministro. Pure i Guardiani della rivoluzione iraniani hanno replicato a Wright con toni poco concilianti: “Nessuna delle navi da guerra statunitensi durante la guerra ha osato avvicinarsi al Mar di Oman, al Golfo Persico e allo Stretto di Hormuz”, hanno fatto sapere i Pasdaran. Così l’accelerazione del calo del greggio si è arrestata: il prezzo del petrolio rimane ancora più alto del 15% rispetto all’inizio della guerra.

First, he makes a significant announcement on social media, triggering a price drop in oil. However, he then deletes the post because the news was, in reality, false. The main figure in this story is the U.S. Energy Secretary, Chris Wright. “The U.S. Navy successfully escorted a tanker through the Strait of Hormuz to ensure that oil continues to reach global markets,” he announced in a post on X, adding that “President Trump is maintaining global energy stability during military operations against Iran.”
The fact that the United States was able to unblock, even for just one tanker, the halt imposed by Iran in the strategic waterway for global oil flows is not insignificant news. Consequently, the price of oil immediately plummeted, losing 15% in a matter of minutes: after breaking the $100 mark, crude oil reached $80 per barrel.
The enthusiastic reaction of the markets must, however, take into account reality. Just a few minutes later, the same Minister Wright deletes the post. Simply because the news is false. This is confirmed by the White House spokesperson, Karoline Leavitt: “The United States did not escort a tanker” in the Strait of Hormuz, she stated. Even a Pentagon source, questioned by the New York Times, had to deny the minister. The Revolutionary Guard of Iran also responded to Wright with little conciliatory tones: “None of the U.S. warships during the war dared to approach the Sea of Oman, the Persian Gulf, and the Strait of Hormuz,” announced the Pasdaran. Thus, the acceleration of the drop in crude oil stopped: the price of oil remains still more than 15% higher than at the beginning of the war.
