Parlando di un appello all’unità “arrivato in ritardo”, Schlein ha chiesto a Meloni di essere più decisa sul Medio Oriente. “Lei ha detto che ‘non condanna né condivide’ e ci ha messo 12 giorni per dire che questi attacchi sono fuori dal diritto internazionale. Bene, ora dica che escludete, anche se ve lo chiedono, l’autorizzazione all’utilizzo delle basi militari in Italia per sostenere gli attacchi illegali all’Iran di Trump. Lei si è contraddetta. La Spagna ha escluso qualsiasi supporto, perché lei non lo fa? Il contesto può cambiare, ciò che non cambia è il diritto internazionale”, ha detto la segretaria dem invitando il governo ad avere il “coraggio di dire anche agli alleati irrinunciabili quando si sbagliano“.
Nel suo intervento la leader dem ha anche chiesto di voler “sapere come sosterrete l’economia dalle conseguenze di questa guerra. Oltre ai danni della guerra commerciale di Trump con i dazi si aggiungono infatti i costi delle sue azioni militari. Noi abbiamo fatto una proposta sulle accise mobili. Abbiamo apprezzato la sua apertura, ma non ha fatto niente. E le persone in fila per la benzina hanno già pagato oltre due euro al litro e il carrello della spesa è salito di più del 20%. Siete sempre in tempo – ha quindi concluso il ragionamento – ad approvare il salario minimo”

The context can change, but what doesn’t change is international law,” said the Democratic Party secretary, urging the government to have the “courage to tell even our most indispensable allies when they are wrong.”

AGI - La guerra in Medio Oriente sta costando all'industria turistica della regione 600 milioni di dollari al giorno in termini di mancati introiti. È la stima del World Travel & Tourism Council, riportata dal Financial Times. Le cancellazioni dei voli, la chiusura dello spazio aereo e il crescente malessere tra i potenziali viaggiatori stanno di fatto danneggiando l'economia turistica della regione. A parte le mancate visite, i viaggiatori si sono affrettati a cancellare le vacanze in Medio Oriente che avevano pianificato in precedenza allo scoppio del conflitto. Secondo i dati raccolti dal gruppo AirDNA, nella sola Dubai sono state cancellate più di 80.000 prenotazioni di affitti a breve termine nella settimana fino al 6 marzo.
Prima dell'attacco, il World Travel & Tourism Council aveva stimato che quest'anno i visitatori internazionali avrebbero speso circa 207 miliardi di dollari in Medio Oriente. I grandi hub regionali come Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Doha e Bahrein gestiscono in genere più di mezzo milione di passeggeri aerei al giorno, ma secondo il fornitore di dati Cirium, i cinque giorni di cancellazioni dei voli in tutta la regione hanno lasciato a terra circa 4 milioni di viaggiatori la scorsa settimana. Centinaia di voli sono decollati dagli aeroporti del Medio Oriente la scorsa settimana nel tentativo di riportare a casa le decine di migliaia di turisti ancora bloccati.
Prospettive future per il turismo
Le destinazioni del Medio Oriente si sono già riprese in passato da episodi di conflitto. Ma nel frattempo, fino a quando non verrà trovata una soluzione, il turismo resterà fermo. Alcuni analisti prevedono una ripresa ma solo dei viaggi d'affari grazie alla posizione strategica della regione tra Europa e Asia. In addition to missed visits, travelers have rushed to cancel vacations they had previously planned in the Middle East in the wake of the conflict. According to data collected by AirDNA, more than 80,000 short-term rental bookings were canceled in Dubai alone in the week leading up to March 6th.
Before the attack, the World Travel & Tourism Council had estimated that this year international visitors would spend around $207 billion in the Middle East. Major regional hubs such as Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Doha, and Bahrain typically handle more than half a million passengers a day, but according to data provider Cirium, the five days of flight cancellations across the region have left approximately 4 million travelers grounded last week. Hundreds of flights took off from Middle Eastern airports last week in an attempt to bring home tens of thousands of tourists still stranded.
Future Prospects for Tourism
Middle Eastern destinations have recovered from conflict episodes in the past. But in the meantime, until a solution is found, tourism will remain stalled. Some analysts predict a recovery, but only through business travel due to the region’s strategic location between Europe and Asia. Others are more optimistic and are confident that once the hostilities end, visitors will return to travel in the region.

I negoziati tra Russia e Ucraina potrebbero riprendere la prossima settimana, ma le probabilità che si rilevino un fallimento sono già altissime. Tanto più nell’attuale, caotico, scenario geopolitico, con la crisi in Medio Oriente e la guerra in Iran che avvantaggia Mosca e che Vladimir Putin ha intenzione di utilizzare a suo favore. Il presidente ucraino, Volodymyr Zelensky, ha comunicato che gli Stati Uniti hanno proposto un nuovo round di colloqui mediati da Washington per cercare uno spiraglio verso la fine della guerra.
Gli Usa propongono nuovi negoziati trilaterali a Russia e Ucraina
I negoziati trilaterali si dovrebbero tenere la prossima settimana dopo il fallimento dei precedenti due round. L’incontro potrebbe svolgersi in Svizzera o in Turchia, ha fatto sapere Zelensky. I negoziati partirebbero in salita, con l’attenzione degli Usa rivolta all’Iran: tanto che lo stesso Zelensky ha detto che bisognerà prima vedere cosa succede in Medio Oriente. A preoccupare Kiev è anche la telefonata tra Donald Trump e Putin, con l’intenzione del presidente Usa di rimuovere le sanzioni legate al petrolio russo su alcuni Paesi con la chiusura dello Stretto di Hormuz.
D’altronde che la guerra in Iran sia un favore alla Russia è ormai un punto fermo, secondo gli analisti. Anche perché Mosca può approfittare non solo della rimozione delle sanzioni ma anche degli aumenti delle quotazioni del petrolio, che permettono anche al Cremlino di vendere a prezzi più alti e quindi incassare più risorse da impiegare in guerra. In più, gli Usa potrebbero volere un accordo rapido mentre continua la guerra in Iran, anche a scapito delle garanzie per Kiev.

Gli Usa, secondo quanto riporta Axios, hanno infatti chiesto al governo guidato da Benjamin Netanyahu e all’esercito di fermare gli attacchi alle infrastrutture energetiche iraniane.
Il messaggio di Washington, scrive Axios citando tre fonti a conoscenza della questione, è stato recapitato a un alto livello politico e al capo di stato maggiore delle Idf, Eyal Zamir. Una richiesta argomentata con tre motivazioni. L’amministrazione guidata da Donald Trump, innanzitutto, pensa già al dopoguerra: l’obiettivo Usa è quello di cooperare con il settore petrolifero iraniano. In pratica applicare il modello Venezuela dove il petrolio, nell’era del dopo Nicolàs Maduro, è direttamente controllato dagli Stati Uniti.
Il secondo motivo è sia quello di evitare attacchi che possano danneggiare la popolazione iraniana e il timore di un incontrollato aumento dei prezzi del petrolio. Anche perché gli Stati Uniti temono – e questo è il terzo punto – che i raid contro gli impianti petroliferi iraniani possano innescare una potente rappresaglia dei Pasdaran contro le infrastrutture energetiche dei vicini Paesi del Golfo.
Proprio oggi (martedì 10 marzo), all’undicesimo giorno di guerra in Medio Oriente, il Qatar ha affermato che l’Iran continua gli attacchi contro le sue infrastrutture civili e ha messo in guardia sulle conseguenze economiche globali dei raid, anche di quelli di Usa e Israele: “Gli attacchi contro gli impianti energetici che hanno avuto luogo da entrambe le parti costituiscono un precedente pericoloso e avranno ripercussioni in tutto il mondo”, ha sottolineato il portavoce del ministero degli Affari esteri del Qatar, Majed al-Ansari.

The message from Washington, Axios writes, citing three sources familiar with the matter, was delivered at a high political level and to the Chief of Staff of the IDF, Eyal Zamir. A request based on three justifications. The administration led by Donald Trump, firstly, is already thinking about the post-war period: the US goal is to cooperate with the Iranian oil sector. In practice, applying the Venezuela model, where oil is directly controlled by the United States in the era of Nicolás Maduro.
The second reason is to avoid attacks that could damage the Iranian population and the fear of an uncontrolled increase in oil prices. This is also because the United States fears – and this is the third point – that raids against Iranian oil facilities could trigger a powerful retaliation by the Basij against the energy infrastructure of neighboring Gulf countries.
Just today (Tuesday, March 10th), on the eleventh day of war in the Middle East, Qatar stated that Iran continues to attack its civilian infrastructure and warned about the global economic consequences of the raids, including those by the US and Israel: “The attacks on energy facilities that have taken place on both sides constitute a dangerous precedent and will have repercussions worldwide,” said the spokesman for the Qatari Foreign Ministry, Majed al-Ansari.
