Sta parlando il senatore di FdI, Raffaele Speranzon, dopo le comunicazioni di Giorgia Meloni in vista del Consiglio Ue, quando Ignazio La Russa, che stava invitando il collega di partito a terminare il proprio intervento, si è lasciato sfuggire a microfono aperto un “porca putt…”. Non è chiaro se il presidente del Senato ce l’avesse proprio con Speranzon o con le opposizioni che stavano iniziando a rumoreggiare.
Poco prima aveva acceso gli animi un articolo del Times, citato da Marco Scurria di FdI, sulle vittorie sportive che “spesso arrivano quando le nazioni sono in piena espansione”, come è successo di recente all’Italia del rugby che ha battuto la Gran Bretagna. A quel punto le opposizioni hanno protestato, considerando probabilmente eccessive quelle parole, e la maggioranza ha reagito dicendo che lo scriveva il Times. Allora è intervenuto La Russa: “Potrà citare un giornale straniero e c’è un divieto? C’è una censura sui giornali stranieri, come sul Foglio magari?”.

The senator from FdI, Raffaele Speranzon, was speaking after Giorgia Meloni’s communications in preparation for the EU Council, when Ignazio La Russa, who was inviting his party colleague to conclude his intervention, muttered a “damn it…” into the microphone. It was unclear whether the President of the Senate was truly angry with Speranzon or with the opposition that was beginning to protest.
Shortly before, an article in The Times, cited by Marco Scurria of FdI, about sporting victories that “often arrive when nations are in full expansion,” as has recently happened with the Italian rugby team beating Great Britain, had fueled the tensions. At that point, the opposition protested, probably considering the words excessive, and the majority responded by saying it was The Times that wrote it. Then La Russa intervened: “Can he quote a foreign newspaper and is there a prohibition? Is there censorship on foreign newspapers, like Il Foglio perhaps?”

AGI/Vista - "Dobbiamo ammettere che, non essendo stati parte diretta dei negoziati, non abbiamo gli elementi per avvalorare con certezza, ma neanche per smentire, le valutazioni degli Stati Uniti sull'indisponibilità dell'Iran a chiudere un accordo definitivo. Il punto è che noi viviamo, purtroppo, in un mondo che ci costringe a scegliere tra cattive opzioni. Quindi, da una parte consideriamo drammatico l'avvio di un altro conflitto, e non sottovalutiamo gli impatti diretti - soprattutto di carattere economico - che quel conflitto può generare per l'Italia, ma dall'altra sappiamo che si tratta di conseguenze che non sono neanche paragonabili ai rischi che correremmo se facessimo finta di nulla, di fronte allo scenario di un regime fondamentalista che massacra i suoi oppositori, colpisce i Paesi del Golfo e si dota di missili a lungo raggio con testate atomiche. We must admit that, not having been directly involved in the negotiations, we do not have the elements to definitively endorse, nor to refute, the assessments of the United States regarding Iran’s unwillingness to reach a final agreement. The point is that we, unfortunately, live in a world that forces us to choose between bad options. Therefore, on the one hand, we consider the start of another conflict dramatic, and we do not underestimate the direct – especially economic – impacts that that conflict can generate for Italy, but on the other hand, we know that these are consequences that are not even comparable to the risks we would run if we pretended nothing was happening, in the face of a scenario of a fundamentalist regime that massacres its opponents, attacks the Gulf countries, and equips itself with long-range missiles with nuclear warheads. These are our assessments, and the reasons for our prudence.
